Q: Why can't I connect with my mobile?
A: You need to verify the connection parameters are correctly set, e.g., baud rate is set neither too high nor too low. Also make sure the port you chose is the one actually used for connection.

Q: Why was I prompted "Can't open COM3"?
A: The serial port COM3 may not be the one actually used for your mobile connection. To check with this, invoke Start->Setting->Control Panel->Modem and Phone->Modem tag and all of your modem devices (a mobile phone connected to a computer is a modem device) are identified and listed there. Just remember the "COM#" used for your mobile then you will have to set this accordingly on SMS Cute's Tools -> Options -> Port. In another case, some mobile software (e.g. the Desktop Suite provided together with Motorola A1000 PDA) will automatically connect with the mobile and occupy the port once the USB cable is plugged in. In that case you will have to disable Desktop Suite's connection by unchecking that port from the mRouter dialog first so that the port can be used again by SMS Cute as well as other mobile software.

Q: Which data rate is ok for my mobile?
A: For physical serial ports 9600 should be ok, and 115200 can be used for USB connections.

Q: How to set timeout and command delay?
A: For most types of mobiles 200 and 180 are expected to work fine. However, if you always encountered connection problems you may change them to larger values.

Q: Can I run the software on a system without Microsoft .NET Framework?
A: No, SMS Cute relies on Microsoft .NET Framework.

Q: Can I run the software with Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1?
A: No, SMS Cute can only incorporate with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

Q: Connection was established, but model information was not correctly shown on the status bar?
A: Your mobile might don't support probing model information via AT commands. However this normally won't affect your using other functionalities.

Q: What is AT command?
A: AT commands are commands standardized by ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and take forms like "AT+?". They are used to communicate with modem devices (a mobile connected to computer is also recognized as a modem device). Some of these commands are optional for implementation and mobile manufacturers may only implement a subset. For example, the command to query model information is "AT+CGMM". If your mobile's model can't be probed correctly that might because the command was not implemented by the manufacturer.
